Darathar's 20mm Sci-fi (with Stormtroopers)
« on: 26 February 2020, 12:10:52 PM »
So I've fallen hard for 20mm Sci-fi & post apocalyptic minis over the past year and a half. It all started with Gaslands as it sent my creativity into overdrive creating crazy builds out of die casts using 20mm figures in them, and then I found some lines of 20mm sci-fi and haven't looked back. Now there isn't that many lines of 20mm sci-fi but as I found out something wierd happens when your not spoiled for choice... You actually finish projects  lol.

I've got loads done and I'll take pics later but I'll start with my Elheim miniatures Future US forces.

Also in there is an infinity mech repurposed as a light Walker.
I'll take better pics of all I've made so far and upload them soon cheers from reading  :).

Lovely stuff!

Got quite a few Elhiem figures, starting to get back into 20mm again and was looking at those future troops as like a Ultra Modern/Near Future task force.

Brilliant! I still have to find time to paint more in 20mm, but the cheap and easy availability of die cast cars is so cool.

Thanks everyone good to see others who like 20mm sci-fi out there.
Next up I reskined a Northstar wasteland warrior as a sci-fi rogue.

I'm slowly making a rogue stars or MDRG small scale skirmish group just finding other alien scum to join him.

The warboy painted blue works really nice.

MDRG would be a fun system, but I have no idea how to proxy all those beastmen....maybe 1/72 plastc fantasy?

Otherwise, I would suggest looking for the (now free) Killzone rules by Nick Lund. They are less heroic and focus on orders and equipment.

Thanks DivisMal I'll make sure I check them out. Yeah I think I'd do certain fantasy figures for them if I do.

Next up is some gangers from Northstar, these figures feel like necromunda figures to me more than the new GW plastics as I loved the old metal range great sculpts by Mark Copplestone :).

Do those mutated beastmen need to be 20mm? Go 28! That radiation has caused some rampant growth...

Hey D, can you do a direct link for the Future US forces. Seems I am failing horribly.

Also, love to see better closer pics when you get that minute.

Finished an alien dog man to go with my MDRG Crew. Was an Elhiem kid with a dog's head added and green stuff fur and tail.

Was good fun to build might make a few more aliens to go with my crews.
