I have "Ultra Modern Army Lists and Organisations Volume 1" by Bruce Rea-Taylor 1985 which is in period if not accuracy (Chieftains with Image Intensifiers...).

It list one each of the following divisions:
Armoured
Mechanised
Motorised

Plus one each at brigade strength:
Armoured Cavalry
Airborne
Airmobile
Artillery

Overseas forces
7 infantry regiments
6 artillery regiments
3 Foreign Legion regiments
4 armoured car regiments

Territorial forces
2 mountain Divisions
10 infantry brigades
1 mountain brigade
1 artillery brigade.

The book notes that Armoured Cavalry makes up half the Spanish armoured assets and would form the spearhead of a NATO commitment.

Hardware as you listed plus BMR600.

I am debating converting some of the west Germans into Spanish troops. Just to have something different.
Just got to figure out what job they would do in a Cold war gone hot. I know they were new to NATO so might not be fully intergrated in the mid to late 80s. But right now it's just a thought experiment.
Another is wether my underfire mins Soviets can be used as Cezch or Polish troops.

It was a quick and painless kit to assemble, and make a good random ruined small building. Good for 1900 century to modern, near future and post apoc.

Yeah, like the windows that come up to chest high. 
But I cant complain. Got it on sale and doesn't take up to much space on the storage shelfs. Which keeps the wife happy.

I just noticed Spanish Overseas organisation options include M41s.

My guess is that Spanish participation in the Central Front would be similar to that of the French.

Tamiya have just released a 1/48 T-55. From the previews and reviews on line it looks brilliant. At least one decal company has released  2 or 3 decal sets for it, covering a few Cold War subjects.

It's certainly on my shopping list, just waiting for my local distributors to get some in.

If you haven't built any of the Tamiya  1/48 kits, don't be put off by the parts counts. They are beautifully engineered and go together really well. I've probably taken more time detailing resin wargaming models than it takes to put one of these Tamiya kits together.

Thanks Carlos, I am keeping a eye on the Tamiya T-55s as well. I am debating how to make them into T55A/ AM. But they do look pretty sweet. So might just spring for the Tamiya kit.
I also have my eye on a Italeri Model Station or two. think it would they would make a great objective build. Have one be a Banhof station and another a Gastshaus…
Oh dang, now I am trying to figure out more uses for that building.

I’d guess that it will not be long before CMK, Blackdog, Gasoline or some other aftermarket company produces the necessary conversion kit. Given the first two are Czech companies I would have my money on them.

I believe the Spanish were nominally tasked with support to Southern Europe,much like the Portuguuse. Helping the Italians along the Yugoslav border, should the soviets have rolled that far.

Good point. Maybe I'll send them a nudge suggesting the conversion kit. Ether way I can wait a bit to get the tanks while I paint up and build the kits I currently have.
Then I'll be all in on those kits.
And thanks for the info about the Spanish forces. Just trying to think of other uses for the Underfire West German models with minimal conversion work.

Or you could do what I did and swap some German (or US) helmets onto the Eureka Portuguese and give them new paint jobs. If you paint the stock and hand guards of the G-3 to look like wood you have a pretty good proxy of a CETME Model C. I’m sure there were plenty of those kicking around until the late eighties, I think they only started to phase in the Model L in the mid ‘80s.

I converted four or five for an aborted Gibraltar 1969 wotif project. Must dig them out.

I was planning something similar with the old ww2 fritz helmets. But I think I should finish up the East Germans first and maybe the West Germans, before I start cutting heads off. 
Speaking of that, I asked in a separate thread, but I will ask it again here.
Do you know of any kit or separate heads available that would work for that East German jump helmets? They look like 70s era motorcycle helmets to me.
And or Soviet style soft tankers helmets? I might just snag the heads from the Tamiya T-55s, but I want to make a officers or two. Along with some Recon and Paratrooper figs.
