Inspired by others on here I had a bit of fun over the weekend and a slightly dodgy Russian Civil War Armoured train is complete.
In my defence I have never been much of a modeller. Write up and photos on the blog.

I often find a great idea a week too late.     My latest revalation is plastic/nylon brush bristles for spears.  They're great.  No more puncture wounds when moving spearmen around.  I occasionally trawl eBay for useful looking plastic nick-nacks now.

The little beads come in various colours actually, so you might get one that matches but I'm not sure battleship grey is very popular with the nail art community.

Cheers Lon, still tempted to try Trev's technique for the rivets, however this weekend Iwill concentrate on the Sopwith.

So, added rivets using 2mm rhinestones after seeign how Trev did it. Not a bad result so update the blog and heres a picture of the result.

Jurgen the satin varnish just made sense, need to sort some track out next. H/OO fits just inside the wheels but only just, all my track is curved so will need to pick up soem straights from ebay I guess.

Trev flags are a must I think to add some colour, drama and glamour, interchangable ones are best but with three locomotives to do I felt I could glue mine in place. I plan a plain unarmoured loco and carriage with no flags for generic use and then the last loco a bit more fully armoured and looking slightly less improvised with red flags, that last is on the back burner at present.

Great painting Roger.  Nice to see how well the Studio Siberia figs match with the Copplestone ones too.  I stuck my first three Siberia minis to bases yesterday.  Hopefully I will get to painting them soon.

PS I think I’m going to add removable flags for the Steamer and armed train.  For the armoured train I have stuck a star on the engine front.  If I’d thought I might have made that removable too.  I want to do a White Armoured train though, so I can specify a bit.
