Miniature Hunting: Hassassins (Now includes .45 Archetype)
« on: 03 August 2009, 10:32:14 PM »
Just a quick model request, does anyone know any models that could be used as 1930s middle-eastern assassins (Hassassins?). Basically what I'm looking for is robed and cowled models armed with a mixture of weaponry possibly daggers/scimitars/pistols/rifles etc.

What I'm wanting to avoid is cultists and the Artizan Lawrence of Arabia models... I have other plans for them! Think more along the lines of the cloaked men Indy encounters in the streets of Cairo in the Lost Ark.

Merci
Andy

Reaper has a handful. GW has at least one in the LOTR range (the evil desert people that I cannot recall the name of...). West Wind have some and there is one set in the Chaos of Cairo range

I like the Foundry Baluchis for this sort of thing...

None of these have firearms, as they are being used for fantasy gaming...and they all do have shields, but there are other packs with rifles and such.

Just a thought.

Those would be the Easterlings.

Thanks for the replies, I'm still on the search, but I think have found a couple of suitable collections from foundry

^Baluchi Mercenaries

^India Hill Tribesmen Command...

Obviously both would need some work, and by the way UncleRhino I love the picture!

Cheers

Hello, thanks for the model suggestions I'm still not sure what I'm going to go for.

I've also been working on a .45 adv. Archetype for the Hassassin, although i'm not sure how balanced it is. I've included a draft below could people please give me their opinion on it.

A couple of quick points, I based it on the Tong Assassin. Personally I see Hassassins using a mixture of modern and tradition weapons, but only weapons that possessed a degree of accuracy i.e. no shotgun or SMG. Secondly in history/pseudo-history Hassassins where supposedly ready to die for their leader and order hence the guts of 8 and the availability of psychological skills.

Critiques welcome... I tend to either under or over power characters.

Cheers
Andy

Given that HT, SH, and DG are all 4, I'd probably restrict some things to bring him nearer G3 average.

Perhaps a reduction of dodge from 4 to 3??

I painted one of the Reaper miniatures, replacing the blade with a ridiculously long hand made blade... very pulpish.
