Sorry, but pictures not showing. I take it from the comments
that I am missing out on some nice stuff. I will try later, maybe
on another computer.

You're probably using Chrome.  See https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=130132.msg1650437#msg1650437 for instructions on how to get chrome to show insecure images on LAF.

And my images are not insecure; they had plenty of counceling and coaching!  ;D

Your images have no reason to be insecure; they go in my "ideas to steal" folder.

Looking good. I like the idea of adding windows / shutters for visual interest.

Well... A tiny little setback was encountered...  :?

As I had reported previously, the painting stage was in full swing. I had done the undercoat (twice) and applied the basecoat, plus the coloured band around the building, just as I had envisioned. So far so good; everything looked great and ready for the next stage, the wash.

However, I managed to royally screw that up. Instead of the required black and brown craft paint mix I used on the previous buildings, I merrily started washing away with the product I use for all my temperate bases; Vallejo Brown Wash (in a very large pot). I even diluted it (I remembered that much at least ::) ), but it was still quite strong.

But even when drying, an uneasy feeling crept up on me; was it supposed to be this yellow/brown? It just didn't mesh, but I couldn't quite single out what it was that bugged me about the result.

Until last evening that is, when I decided that I would at least drybrush the whole building, even if I was deathly tired (usually doing hobby related activities picks me right up again), and then it suddenly dawned on me.

I looked up the recipe I used on the first building and lo; it was right there in the very post I made in this thread!

There was a short period of fence-sitting; should I just go ahead as-is, or should I step back and redo the last two stages? Me being me though, it was easily decided, and dutifully I picked up my project and off to the spraying booth it went. No matter I was pretty satisfied with the coloured stripe on the walls; I knew it would bug me to no end if the final finish would be radically different from that on the other buildings.

So now it sits in a plain sand colour once again.

The silver lining though, is that the entire structure will be that much more sturdy now, with those extra layers covering it... :D

Sounds like you made the right decision, and it will be even more realistic as a result...what real building hasn’t had more than one coat of paint  :D

Ever the perfectionis, huh?  :D

I know the feeling. Re-doing the facade of my building right now.
It'll be worth the trouble in the end. Knowing what you're going for, it'll tie the table together much better.

Sweet looking building. That table is gonna be awesome.

So, after that little episode, we're back to our regular programming.

I redid the stripe on the walls (slightly adjusted for colour as well, while I was at it), and did the correct wash this time. Then it was on to drybrushing. I started out too dark, but in the end I got the result pretty consistent with the other two buildings.

This was followed by a light wash of both AP Strong Tone and Sepia to the bottom edges of the walls.

After this, we were already on the home stretch, really. I did the doors, windows and control panels, which was really quick, and then I started on some scattered crates and barrels.

These seem to have become a bit of a theme in this project, and they look good, so why stop now, right?

Then I added some cables to the boxy thing on the second floor, and also added a greeble for them to lead to, just around the corner.

Plus; I added some sand/tilegrout mix to all horizontal surfaces, since sand gets everywhere apparently. Retroactively, I did the other two buildings like this as well, and I really like the end result.

Finally, almost as an afterthought, I added some seditionist graffiti to the rear wall, and I called this one done.

But enough waffle; this has taken long enough already, on to the pictures!

Some detail shots:

And finally, a shot of it on the table, with most of my other Tatooine terrain:

Stormtrooper: What's this, then? "Imps move House"? "People called Imperials, they move towards house"?
Rebel: It says "Imps, Go home".
Stormtrooper: No it doesn't. What's Basic for "Imp"? Come on!
Rebel: "Imperium".
Stormtrooper: Goes like?
Rebel: "al"?
Stormtrooper: Vocative plural of "al" is?
Rebel: "Als"?
Stormtrooper: "Imperials".
[the Stormtrooper corrects the first line of the Rebel's grafitti]
Stormtrooper: "Move". What is "move"?
Rebel: "Go".
Stormtrooper: Conjugate the verb "to go".
Rebel: "I go, you go, we go".
Stormtrooper: So "move" is?
Stormtrooper: Third person plural present indicative. "They go".
Stormtrooper: But "Imperials, go home" is an *order*, so you must use the...?
Rebel: The imperative!
Stormtrooper: Which is?
Rebel: Um, oh, oh, "also go?".
Stormtrooper: "Go".
[the Stormtrooper corrects the second line of the Rebel's grafitti]
Stormtrooper: "House"? Nominative? "Go house". This is motion towards, isn't it, Rebel?
Rebel: Dative!
[the Stormtrooper draws his blaster and holds it to the Rebel's neck]
Rebel: No, not dative! Accusative! Accusative! "house", sir. "to house".
Stormtrooper: Except that "house" takes the...
Rebel: The locative, sir.
Stormtrooper: Which is?
Rebel: "Home".
Stormtrooper: "Home".
[the Stormtrooper corrects the last line of the Rebel's grafitti]
Stormtrooper: Understand?
Rebel: Yes, sir.
Stormtrooper: Now write it out a hundred times.
Rebel: Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Long live the Emperor, sir.
Stormtrooper: Long live the Emperor. And if it's not done by sunrise, I'll blast your balls off.
