Received my Next Stop Kabul - Afghans Deal from Eureka Miniatures USA today and they are fan-tas-tic! The best figures I’ve seen in a while with almost no flash at all. They are anatomically correct. My only criticism is that the weapons, being more accurately depicted, are a little flimsy. Still the metal used for the casting is easy to work with without being too soft. These are my first Eureka figures and, if all their range are of this quality, they wont be the last.

I think it is not discontinued the pack actually, but after the reorganisation of foundry blisters some minis have disappeared.
I remember there was also a sitting lady which I cannot find again. Maybe Plynkes or Admiral benbow or  some other expert in the LAF might be keeping records of what is available and what is not, or maybe there will be someone with a spare figure to trade etc.

the chair he is sitting on in the photo  is of course of some other manufacturer/scratchbuilt. The one included in the pack was a small "travelling" one.

Oh what a beautiful diorama could be sone with those sitting explorers (male and female) plus a couple of standing like the fellah with the bottle and some explorer;s tents, askaris porters etc!

You have one spare of everything, I bet you have boxes and boxes of duplicate figures up in your loft waiting for opportunities such as these... ;)

I wish. I did just find about 50 Foundry Indian Mutiny British infantry I had forgot I had - just need to find someone to swap them for Empress figures now ::)

When I started getting DA stuff he was one of three "free" figures you received if you bought "The British in the Dark Continent" collection. I don't know which pack he was in before they started pulling that "bonus figure" stunt. I suppose I could go through my old Wargames Illustrated back issues to see if I can find the pertinent Foundry advert.

But I have little enthusiasm for such a task, and as such you will have to pay me to do it. I accept all kinds of goods as currency, including central African ceremonial throwing knives, Zulu dancing girls, and cake.

I don't have that particular figure, but I do have his counterpart with the gun. Due to his sitting pose, I have been saving him in case I want to use him as some kind of vehicle crew, as those kind of figures don't come around too often.

There's 2 sitting ladies in DA 1/8, there's a sitting guy with a gun in DA 9/3. There's often extra miniatures in these packs.

Picked up several items to field the Finns in 1944-45 this weekend - namely T-34/76s and T-34/85s. Battlefront has started doing packs of individually sculpted vehicles (which I think is a wonderful idea) beyond the initial set of Tigers, and these are some of them. I've already started painting them, and hope to have them done soon.

In addition, picked up some very nicely painted 1/300 Italian aircraft for WW2. Saves me time in painting projects, and the price was very good. Mainly C.200s, but also got a couple SM79s. Too small for use in 15mm, but very useful for other applications, including "Check Your Six". These are older 1/300 aircraft, so they're a bit truer to scale than some of the newer stuff, but they'll work fine for me!

I had intended to get some larger examples to use with my 15mm forces as well, but the vendor who carried -those- chose not to bring any of his larger scale aircraft for WW2 to Pacificon! (I mean, yeesh, when does WW2 sell anywhere? ;) ) I'd also intended to get equipment for my Hungarians, to pick up Pulp City, and to get a few other things, but the only vendor who brought enough stock was Zombiesmith (from whom I snagged a copy of the lovely 'This Quar's War'), and ironically I hadn't planned to pick up any minis from them on this trip (hope to do so soon, though.)

Also, just before we left for our trip this past weekend, got the final master castings for my miniatures range. They look great, and I'm looking forward to having some painted samples on the website. Maybe I can convince some others to paint samples for me.

Finally, I am picking up my copy of the re-release of Space Hulk this afternoon. The minis are quite nice, unlike some of the stuff coming out of GW these days, and there isn't a topknot in site. I would very much like to field these as one of the Rogue Trader era Chapters (the Space Sharks), but they're designed to be Blood Angels, and I'm not sure I want to bother with the dremelling/converting of details required. Nonetheless, very nice individually sculpted Marines; even nice without a lick of paint on them. Each one totally different. The main objective marker,a dead space marine on a throne would make a fantastic general for my force of Chaos Marines.

-Doc

I hope you don't mind if I show those three sitting figs again from my LPL3 entry below. Didn't know that Foundry removed the figs from their newly organised and now more expensive packs, but I'm not too surprised ... :(

But I wouldn't be too surprised either if they'll release all of he "removed figures" sometimes in the near future as a kind of "Rare-items-we-just-found-at-the-Warehouse Special Surprise Pack" for 8,50 quid for two figs plus p&p!

Received a package with Tiger NWF Pathans, Afghan turcoman regulars. They are all rubbish.  :-[

The 75mm Krupp and Schneider guns were however excellent.
