Matakishi could I be rude and if you have a Jim Bowen 40mm figure compare them to those I have the figures and they are nice but would say they fit in with larger scale and wondered how they compared

The jeans are Foundry blue.
I don't have a 40mm figure, sorry.
They don't fit on 25mm round bases.

yah, I'm normally quite flexible when it comes to scale for a skirmish game like moderns.  The problem with these is more that they don't fit on the circle base than they are slightly too big.   :?

But they are lovely figures.  When I can, I certainly wouldn't mind getting a set just to paint up for fun.

I'm back from Fall-In. Since it is Sunday, let us have reading from the Book of Retail, Chapter 23, Verses 6-15.

"And the Lord said unto Pete: Go forth, and buy such things as I shall reveal to you. And Pete said: Yea verily.

"So the Lord bringeth Pete unto a land flowing with lead and resin, bountiful in all things that please the senses, and the name of this land was the Dealer's Hall. And Pete did rejoice to be in the Dealer's Hall with loud squealing and little claps of joy, so did the people around him say: Hush, you.

"So Pete purchased many things and left others, and God said unto Pete: Why do you leave miniatures unpurchased? And Pete said: I have run out of money. And God said: That is not my problem. And Pete was sad because God wanted him to have many things beyond what his wallet would allow."

Pics later.

So Pete returneth to the peoples. And the peoples say unto Pete 'Verily, we say unto you, Tell us more of the promised land. Tell us of the mountains of lead and the rivers of resin. Tell us, the poor and the downtrodden and the too fareth away and the loweth on monies. Tell us in song and in interpretal dance of the glories of the harvest as you merrily plucked the shapen lead from the fingers of the dealers. Tell us more. Tell us'

Who am I to argue?

Gloire projects:

ECW Cavalry by Renegade.

Conquest Eastern Woodland Indians, Last of the Mohicans, and two noble chiefs.

Brigade Swashbucklers! Really excellent models. I finished up one for Fall-In, and the others are already begun.

Gifts from people who paint better than I do! Redoubt musketeer on the left is from Scott Perry, of Pictors Studio. The one on the right is a new Brigade swashbuckler, by John Newmann.

Great War in Asia projects:

Mehmet and friends--Brigade Turks and command.

The Kaiser's boys! Asien Korps by Brigade. The command pack is awesome, but my photo of it is terrible. Here's a closeup of the four poses in the infantry pack.

Now some of you could paint all these in one week, or two if he has the flu, but this will probably take me until next year to get through.

What were called "Raptors" in Jurassic Park were actually Deinonychus (Deinonychii?). Velociraptor was actually about the size of a dog, much smaller than seen in the movie.

Now, there were really big Dromeosaurids, and one was found in the 90s that would have been almost 5 meters long. Achillobator may not even be the largest of "raptor", though you start to get into issues about metabolism and growth rate and possible life expectency and these sorts of things are mostly conjecture.

Your model is cool. I would say it's a very large Achillobator, but it lacks feathers and the tail and posture aren't quite right. It'll be okay for pulp purposes. It's a nice looking model.

Oh look, I'm ranting about dinosaurs again.    Can't take me anywhere, can you.

edit: I think that dino is by Papo, the French company. They make 120mm Musketeers, too!
