Another miniature, this time a converted Boche, using the body from a resin Boche and the head from a 'Green Man' Dream Blades miniature.

For more details of the conversion, see the Blog.

The painting is finished and I have gloss varnished the mini. Once it is fully dry, I will be matt varnishing and decorating the base.

The latest Pax Bochemannica mini finished and the last of the Pax Boche Themed Month.

I quite like the mechanic of themed months as they focus the mind and as in this case force me to paint up some of the lead (and resin) I have on my To-Do shelf. But I'd be interested in reading what others think of Themed Months?

For more information, see the Blog and thank you for following the progress on this and other Blog posts.

These four metal miniatures from the original Pax Bocehemannica box set have been modified and will be painted as a crew for my resin Splata siege machine. For details of the Splata - see this Orcs in the Webbe https://www.orcsinthewebbe.co.uk/index.php/supported-games/pax-bochemannica/642-the-splatta written by me;

I think it's only fair to show the finished crew alongside the Splata!

Lovely work, Tony.

Minifigs is Caliver Books and they used to look after the range when Maveryc was in-between owners. Hysterical Games was eventually entrusted with ownership of the range and even released a few new kits and figures for the range, but sadly sales were very poor for the range and focus had to shift elsewhere. There were plans to introduce the 'Gaublish' (Goblin Gauls) and the Brutish Seelie (hippy psycho-hobbit Britons) in an expansion supplement that would have included rules for the Splata and the Noman Onager Warmachines as well as new characters for the Boche.

I personally think it would have been a good slow burner which, over time, would gather interest as the range grew and started to include more recognisable fantasy races. Elves were chalked in to be Greeks and Dwarves were going to be Welsh...

Totally mad stuff, but it was a joy to work on.

Steve Blease at Wessex Games is now looking after all of the miniatures Hysterical Games had in it's catalogue, but he has not been able to release them in earnest. I'm not sure reaching out to him right now would help particularly, but it may give an indication of which ranges would be worth starting on.

It always struck me as a game that should have been more successful. I believe that I have at least one of all of the minis available and even some spares in my collection. I've taken the opportunity to search 'other' manufacturers for character and specialised minis.

Hopefully I can keep adding to the collection.

Tony
