British & Indian Armour in Burma
« on: 29 August 2020, 10:52:51 AM »
If anyone's interested in wargaming the Burma Campaign, I've written a guide to the British and Indian armour employed in the campaign, covering the organisation, painting and markings.  This part covers the British 7th Armoured Brigade and the Indian 50th Tank Brigade.  The next part will cover the Indian 254th & 255th Tank Brigades and the XV Corps Armoured Group:

Following this with interest. I recently downloaded a 3D print file from MojoBob for the Lee/Grant in 1:100 with all the Cupola variants. Will print at least one when the need gets to the top of the queue.
Cheers,

Nice!  I'm going to talk more about the Lee next time, but essentially they used cupolas absolutely randomly, but I've never seen one with the cupola MG fitted.  Some however had the pair of bow MGs fitted - these were operated by the co-driver, who could only control the guns' elevation (there are a number of accounts from the 3rd Carabiniers recording their use).

You're welcome!  I'll eventually do a bit on Japanese tanks in Burma and probably some more general orbat and TOE stuff for both sides.
