Next "gun trend"?

Today I received 15 miniatures from Musketeer. Fantastic stuff! but one thing makes me think. Among these 15 there were 3 Lewis guns. For me the last couple of years have been the "Golden age of the Lewis Gun". I think it´s such a cool weapon and I have figures from Old Glory, Copplestone, GWM, Artizan, Askari, Renegade, Brigade and probably a few more I have forgot. The market is now full of Lewis guns! The Bergman, the broomhandle Mauser, the Tommy Gun and the BAR also has its share, so the question is what will the next "gun trend" be? Any safe bets out there?

All of those weapons have fairly distinct shapes, so keeping with that I'd suspect grease guns or m16s for postwar stuff.

It's also been the golden age of the Bergmann SMG, as more of these are appearing!

I could probably get a 1000-1 bet at Ladbrookes on somebody doing Martini-Metfords or Martini-Enfields. Might be worth a couple of quid.

What with all the Great War stuff coming out lately you couldn't totally rule it out. Ah well, I can dream, can't I?

I just noted the new Sikhs from Pulp do have a Bren-type LMG (and a lewis gun...) for the first time in the range

Actually I'd like to see more automatic rifles like the Madsen, Bergmann 15 n. A and the Hotchkiss auto rifle which has a couple of names to it.

All used in WW1 and in some cases prior, but worthy of acknowledgement. Our own Aussie wargames company has produce a Hotchkiss auto rifle for the light horse with a no2.

I suggest a return to the days of black powder weapons with elegant looking and beautifully craftes long rifles such as Kentucky and Dickert rifles

Just reading "Empire Of Sand" at the moment and the smuggling of Martini-Metfords/Enfields into Cairo for an Egyptian insurrection is one of the main themes. I'm not usually into 20thC, but am getting more and more enthused by Lawrence and his chums, so much so that I'm seriously considering doing the period with T&T rules.

I forgot about the Arabs. Looking at the Artizan Arab Revolt range, there are a couple of chaps who might have Martinis (my gun-recognition skills are letting me down today). The Martinis supplied to the Arab Revolt were of the rechambered .303 Metford/Enfield variety.

I was thinking more along the lines of KAR and Imperial Service troops, but it seems my wish may well have already come true: There are already figures with Martini-Enfields.

How about the Bren gun. It's distinctive, and I don't know many figures with that weapon.
