Allan Quartermain Redux for 2020
« on: 16 September 2020, 11:08:26 PM »
Allan Quartermain is one of my favorite fictional, literary characters and the novels are a fascinating look at a sympathetic European toward Colonialism but is still a product of his times. Plus the adventures are outstanding and have interesting characters and great scenarios for gaming.

Lovely! Big Quatermain fan here, glad to see there are others. Yeah, Haggard was a product of his time, but I always found him refreshingly devoid of some of the worst attitudes we tend to associate with our Victorian and Edwardian forebears (not like some I could mention *cough* John Buchan *cough*).

So yeah, Quatermain is more than welcome over at the Colonial Adventures board, any time. Frankly I think he's probably wasted on the muppets here on VSF. They're probably too busy fiddling with their steam walkers and putting goggles on their top hats and such.

I'm kidding! I'm kidding! Just a friendly bit of inter-board ribbing. I love you guys really, I swear. :)

Well I have to admit that Quartermain once on my tabletop did get involved in an adventure with a T-Rex.

Plynkes is just jealous because he doesn't have an Aeroneff to fly out of the deepest jungles of Africa, being a diehard Colonial chap, he has to walk ;) :)
