I don't know if I will ever get to use it but, yes, I will add it to my collection.

Why is there a University of Edinburgh logo on the cover of the rulebook?

Why is there a University of Edinburgh logo on the cover of the rulebook?

The University of Edinburgh apparently has a history and games lab, so I guess they’re publishing it. There’s nothing on the Osprey site about it.

Osprey gave their blessing for the author Dan Mersey and wargamer Dr Gianluca Raccagni of Edinburgh University to publish the supplement themselves. Luca had it published through the University press which is why their logo is on it.

I think.  lol I wasn't involved first hand, this is just what I've picked up. Osprey allowed them to use lots of their artwork in the book.

While the hoarder and Lion Rampant fan in me really wants to get this. I am just not really sure what it is I am buying. The Lion Rampant rules are so flexible that you can use them for just about anything with just a little imagination and some clever renaming.

Is this "just" tailored armylists or are there new rules in there as well?

Do you need the Lion Rampant Rules or is this supplement self contained with the original rules reproduced within it?

I think you're on rock solid ground Nick. There have been quite a few FB posts on the subject by the authors delineating just what you have described.

Apparently you do need the Lion Rampant Rules to use this supplement.

Slightly OT, but in the hope that Nick (or indeed Dan) are reading, once all this Covid stuff is behind us it would be great to see a Lion Rampant: The Crusader States campaign day of some description in Notts. Food for though methinks :)

Ordered :)

This sounds very interesting - Lion Rampant plus a history professor who is a wargamer - must have a try. :D
