Noticed that and put it down to you painting 28mm flies 😉

 :'(

Nice work!  :-*

Love you paint style... but you know that.

 lol

Happens to me all the time. Taking photos of your minis ends up a quality control measure in which I discover things I've missed.

 :'( :'(

I must admit that at least once in the past I have spotted a tiny blemish like that and used photo-editing software to remove it from the picture rather than paint to remove it from the the figure.

Sometimes when I feel I am 'done' with a figure I just really can't be bothered to send it back to the painting table. :)

I have a Masai blowing a kudu horn. One day I noticed that kudu horns are generally black rather than the light brown I did his in. Poor lad has been waiting on the painting table for about four years to get his horn sorted. Sometimes it's better to just say nothing and carry on.

 :'( :'( :'(

Nah, just kidding with the tears. I'll just paint over the spot/s that I've messed up. I've got all the paint recipes written down thankfully  lol

Plynkes, that Photoshop idea is a good one  8)

So an Afghan Joan of Arc? I must admit NWF isn't really any area I have any knowledge of but I can always appreciate gorgeously painted miniatures like those beauties.

Thanks people- all your goodly words are appreciated. :)

I have however just noticed a spot of paint on the back of Malalai's veil!  :o

More work to do on the vignette then.....

That's normally the longest part of my paint jobs touching up all the "Crap that shouldn't be there" paint blobs. If you ask my wife she'll say the same about my ability to paint rooms in our house  lol

It's quite fascinating. The March to Kandahar: Roberts in Afghanistan is about the best overall view of the war. It's a great read too which always helps.

On that very subject, I just got an email from a mate that said the following:

As much as I love wargames figures  and after collecting tons of them  over the last 30 years; it takes up too much of my time, and I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics, such as cleaning, and maintaining the home, so something has to give. Great looking vignette...must admit I hadn’t seen that figure before.

Really like the choice of palette...“Deep” is the word that comes to mind.

The depth and richness of the colour is just lovely.

And the gag about the cleaning stuff is excellent, and of almost universal application.

Thanks MaleGriffin. That's great to hear as that is the effect that I wanted to achieve/an art school education was not wasted  :D

The strong yellow colours, closely related to one another on the colour wheal, were called for as I wanted the Malalai to 'talk' to the other Tribal Commander, to emphasise the relationship between them and not to be overpowered by the presence of the casualty miniature. I hoped that by moderating the tones on the casualty, that he would be visible but not break the 'communication' between the two 'Command' mini's.
