Cold War Gets Hot - Russian invasion of the Baltic States 1999. NATO forces attempt to stem Russian aggression in the Latvian City of R?zekne. Engagements to date have been fought in open countryside and small towns in the east, with NATO forces achieving minor victories with its counteroffensive.

Cold War Gets Hot 1999 - The scene is set to fight the battle of Liep?ja, 3rd largest city in Latvia. NATO forces consist of Bundeswehr and an allied Latvian all arms detachment. The Russian Federation have a number of support choices to make before deployment, but will they choose the right ones.

NATO and allied forces are either hidden or in reserve, plus there’s a number of dummy markers deployed to cause confusion and to add suspense.

Cold War Gets Hot 1999 Battle Report - The Russian attack began with Wagner PMCs approaching the city from the south in a staggered armoured column. The attack was led by a BMP-3 which first deployed it’s infantry to secure a fuel depot, before driving forward down the main highway towards the roadblock.

The hidden Latvian defenders saw an opportunity and the MILAN anti-tank team revealed itself from underneath the haulage truck, firing accurately at the approaching BMP-3 and achieving a direct hit, which immediately immobilised the vehicle and set it on fire - first blood to NATO.
