We're all suffering during this pandemic, each in our own ways. For me, as someone who already suffers anxiety and depression, it has been especially difficult. I had gotten hold of it towards the end of last year, and was enjoying my hobby and writing again, but then things took a turn and let's just say that I spiralled. Badly.
I was really getting into Oathmark, producing lots of video content on my fledgling YouTube channel (JP's Hobby Channel), but then I shut down. I couldn't focus. Couldn't read. Certainly wasn't writing anything of note, and painting was out the window as well.
But I'm not down for the count yet, and recently in an effort to drag myself back, took on a painting commission for a huge Warmaster Empire army.
This was supposed to have been completed yesterday, 1 November, having started it in late September. However, thanks to the landlord deciding refurbishing our kitchen mid-pandemic was a good thing, this was scuppered as our living room and office (which houses my painting area) were all taken over with appliances, pots, pans etc. And then, naturally, one of the workforce contracted COVID so the work was shut down for another two weeks, leaving us without a kitchen, and no way to paint models.
And people wonder why I have such bad anxiety?
This was finally finished yesterday - just waiting for the cooker to be connected - and so it's all steam ahead on finishing this project as quickly as possible.
That's why I'm going to showcase this here, as I intend to finish by the 15th of November. I'd already done a couple of test units, so I know the scheme and the client had signed off on them before all hell broke loose.
So today I'm cracking on with getting the models all primed and on their painting sticks / rounds.
I hope to post an update each day showing the progress made - comments and encouragement welcomed.
Cheers everyone, and stay safe and healthy.
