Exploring the Dark Kontinent
« on: 22 August 2009, 11:15:43 AM »
It's hot. Damn hot. August in the congo bassin is like hell on earth. One wrong step might be the last you ever take. There are the big cats. Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs. Fierce Gorilla Silverbacks protecting their females from every trespasser. Elephants, water buffalos or Rhinos trampeling down everything in their way. Venomous snakes, hostile natives and the most annoying plague of all, mosquitos. Clouds of Mosquitos. How can anyone survive in an environment like this?

Watch here for more. Only today. Live from Africa.

Six parties participate in the game: Grimms American Expedition, Poliorketes' Baluchi Slavers, Doomhippies Rogues, Lurchs' british Sailors, Witchhunters German Adventurers and Grenadier Christians Sikhs. And Driscoles as Game master.

In the first turn, Poliorketes was hailed as new king of the congo (take a look at the left!), while Grenadier Chris shot a <lion! Otherwise nothing important happened, just the usual deaths from sickness or native attacks.

On turn two, german Flintenweiber start shooting at everything moving - resulting in a rather ineffective firefight with british sailors with only minor casualties on both sides. Grimm found one lousy diamond, Lurch found out the hard way not to stand in the way of an elefant stampede, while Grenadier Christian found a gold mine.

Wonderful stuff. That first photo is delightful (as are the rest) but the first one captures the scene beautifully. ;D

Turn three the Baluchis went hunting. A black panther escaped, but the hero shot a crocodile. The rogues bettered this and shot an elefant!

A round of applause to those people. Well done indeed.
