Mammoths paper terrain (with freebies.)
« on: December 06, 2020, 12:17:09 AM »
I really enjoy paper models - not so much building them, but designing them.

Eventually I'd like to create a sort of tribute book to the old warhammer townscapes sets. But in the mean time I'll be posting individual buildings on wargames vault. (they're pay what you like - which means free.)

Anyway I thought some here but be interested to see the making steps as i go put together a range of these things :)

first up is this little townhouse - I actually made it as a rough model for a larger project but then liked the shape enough to do a nicer version with a page of details and fixtures.

If you want it, it's here: https://www.wargamevault.com/product/338523/fantasy-town-house?src=newest_since
Again - FREE!!!!

I really like the old school vibes. Do you draw and color these traditionally? I can't detect digital "brush marks"

Takes me right back to the 1996, when the lizardmen and Bretonia box featured a paper farm stead. Very cool old school vibe to this one. I also find it awesome that you made an entire sheet to individualise the house.

Yep, just pens and watercolour - I don't enjoy working digitally so I try not to do it.

That is super cool! Excellent work.

They take me back even further to WH 2nd edition, with Blood Bath at Orc’s drift scenario, those houses did duty for many years and many games. I can’t recall the year, but must have been mid to late 80s.

A few weeks ago i was flicking through old White Dwarfs, containing templates for very similar - old classic, but so useful.

In fact I might even have the unbuilt orginal warhammer ones in a pack somewhere.

Those are such a great vibe and reminder, will definitely take a look

Thanks to you, many.

Glad you all like it :)

Also if you print it as two pages to one sheet of A4 it scales down to a nice 15mm house. :)

Old school cool  8)

I’m guessing that the cables on the side are there to help the building fit in with your theme?
cheers

That and to cover up a wayward pencil line that I forgot to remove prior to painting.

Knocked up a simple sci fi hab block as a patreon reward.
