The rules are excellent, easy to gorm and most enjoyable to play. I'm sticking with them for future Viking and Saxon differences of opinion. My Viking Hero even managed a 'death worthy of a song' before getting mullered under a pile of baddies. I used Ravenfeast to finish off the 'Kingdom of Heaven' game, started last week.

The Little King of the Vikings inflicts 'a death worthy of a song' on a Saxon Hero in single combat!

no idea mechanically speaking, but layout-wise a lovely job. One of the nicest looking set of rules for 28mm figure gaming I've seen, free or otherwise.

(* although not entirely convinced by the cover - figures are fine, but layout perhaps a little low-key somehow?).

Yes, that's the PDF front cover. The full front cover is a lot better.

That's a lot of little blood splatter tokens, Harry!

Blood splatter is the currency of Valhalla. The Viking Hero copped it the same way, hacked to pieces by a baying mob of Saxon dogs...

Dib, the Little King of the Vikings and his Champion Ragner Nobrot were carousing in Aegir's Tavern. Insults were exchange between Dib and Einer One-Eye that could only be resolved one way. Both sides agreed to meet, at dusk in the big field at the back of the Tavern. Dib took Ragnar, Olaf Broomstik the Berserker, two Bondi and an archer, Einer rocked up with his champion and Raven Bannerman, 2 Bondi and a Crossbowman.
Both sides drew weapons and closed...

As the two sides met the missile men shot off all their shafts then legged it while their betters were otherwise engaged!

Ragnar charged the enemy champion who parried skillfully, but stumbled, the Bondi darted in and speared him dead! The Bondi's triumph was short lived, he was speared in return Ragnar Nobrot dispatched his killer with his axe...

In the 'big field' Dib charged Einer One Eye, Olaf Broomstik making short work of Einer's Bondi. Did cut down the Raven Bannerman and Einer legged it too, but Dib was young and swift, ran Einer down and killed him!
Good games, the rules run nice and smooth, kind of reminded me of a Song of Blades and Heroes skirmish... can't say better than that!

Thanks for sharing Harry. I've still not managed to find the time to read the rules yet but I'm pleased to see it works for skirmishes with half dozen minis aside. Have you played a larger game yet?

I see the Myth & Magic rules are up on the site now... http://www.ravenfeast.com/free-downloads.html

I like the idea of using the Ravenfeast rules with Romans vs. Celts...or maybe adding Myth & Magic and using the Celtos minis range.

Tavern brawls can certainly be messy!  Well, a post-tavern brawl in this case.  Enjoyed the report.
