10mm Normans: Big Battle Ravenfeast
« on: March 25, 2025, 02:39:29 PM »
Finished up my Norman army for the Big Battle Ravenfeast 1066 campaign. The Saxons and Normans were previously completed so now all I have to do is actually play some tabletop battles with them. The figures are all Old Glory 10mm and the bases are Litko 3mm thick 30mm squares with rounded corners.

That's some lovely folk which has gathered here! I hope you will be doing a battle report, always nice to read what people are doing with the Ravenfeast rule set.

Beautiful work on the little fellows! I?m interested to read the battle reports when they see action, I have Ravenfeast and like what I read but haven?t played yet.

Gorgeous! Love how much detail you've managed to fit on there :-*

Lovely looking army. You've really managed to get a good density of troops for the melee infantry - are these single figures or strips?

Thanks for the kind words, the melee troops are all strips. Most of the figures in "formation" from the Old Glory ranges are in strips but not necessarily all of them. Not necessarily everyone's favorite but I will say it allows one to speed paint because alot of the details are in nooks and crannies that can left primer black.

My favorite scale of figures is 10mm (followed by 6mm) and I have come to appreciate the Old Glory ranges and use them for many projects, especially those I want to crank though at a quicker pace.

This was one of the advantages of the old GW Warmaster ranges - the infantry where in strips so you only need to paint 2 sides of each figure, and given how close the two strips were on the base, you could get away with painting 1.5 sides of the figures!

That is one impressive beautifully painted army. I have OG 10mm but mine have never looked that good.
They are so colorful en masse, looks like an army. Amazing work
