I've played it a lot, yet a bit less than RoSD. I find SS&SS more interesting in the mechanics, but the quantity of interesting adventures released for RoSD made me drop the former for the latter. All in all every game depends upon the scenario design, and its difficulty is just a matter of the scenario.

I wonder if someone made a SS&SS/RoSD crossover to allow people play RoSD modules with SS&SS engine. They are both d20, it should be quite easy.

Bye!

I agree dice rolls certainly impact the game but I think there are other factors. The Event deck is a clever design and as the game progresses and certain cards are removed, the likelihood of monsters activating increases, which ups the tension. Also it depends how risky you want to play. If your rolling 3 dice every time it can get pretty crazy.

And you have to decide how much looting you want to do. I thought about making this part of a campaign as its something we stopped because of the extra actions, and we didnt have much we needed to spend the money on, once our characters improved.

My first and third games were total party wipeouts but still fun

I have thought of playing RoSD scenario with Sellswords. I think its mostly converting the card resulting into  Event cards such as wandering monsters, Scenario events, traps etc, as RoSD is a bit more predicatable.
