"Over There" Bluewillows WW1 1/72-20mm project - Jasta 10
« on: 11 December 2020, 09:10:30 AM »
As the year wears on I am slowly clearing my project drawers in my workspace,  this week I tackled the fifth drawer which has a mix of ww2 and ww1 1/72-20mm aircraft bits and kits.

In between painting other bits on my desk I knocked out these Wartime Miniatures 1/72-20mm pilots. These chaps are very useful for crewing 1/72 WW1 aircraft, but equally could be used for Spanish civil war or early WW2 also.

I am also prepping some 1/72 aircraft for Jasta 10, Werner Voss Fokker DR1, a Pfalz DIIIa. Also planning a Junkers D1 and naval albatross for construction over the next month.

These will be additions to my Canvas Eagles collection, it has been a long time since I built additions to my aircraft collection..

Cheers
Matt

Completed my first aircraft for the three aircraft I am building for Jasta 10. The Roden kit was very tricky build with a lot of parts being replaced otherwise it would not handle normal wargame handling for Canvas eagles. The transfers were appalling so I used Pheon transfers.

I am sort of happy, not really 100% with the build. I hand painted the yellow and I had it little too thick but I did achieve the stripey look of hand painted canvas with the white. I nevertheless it will take to the skies and very soon be on the table using canvas eagles rules. The pilot is from Wartime Miniatures ww1 pilot range I commissioned a number of years ago.

The aircraft is Lt Hans Klein, he lead Jasta 10 from the 17th September 1917 until he was wounded in February 1918 flying a Pfalz dxiii. a record of 22 victories, 1 unconfirmed.

Cheers
Matt

Another one, a really enjoyed building a albatross W4. The first float plane I have built a quite flimsy structure so may not stand up to too much handling for canvas eagles.
