Brillant unit for the Mallorca wargame! Now some Britons and we can have a decent battle for the pool! 

And the best thing: a secondary use for Ancient wargame!

King Maroboduus, a lovely figure from the warlord range, but he is huge miniature around 34mm tall (7ft 4 in scale) so needs to be based seperatly from any other warlord miniature.

I wanted to place the miniature a rock like the cheiftan in gladiator so using cork and pins this was achieved, he also comes with two dogs which are also oversized, however one of mine was miscasted so he remains in the spare box for now.

In that German series Barbarians the top warlord is called Marbod. Must be him? Never realised he was real. Beautifully painted.

Additions to the germanics is off the desk last week. The inspiration for the Woden idol came from the standard bearer that is a foundry miniature. The warlord miniatures are a problem for ranking up on the tight 60 x60 bases, so quite a few miniatures were modified. The shields are mostly LBM decals, which do NOT fit the foundry shields sadly, so edging needed to be matched. The wicker shields have Germanic runes on them hand painted by me.
