Hello all,
Another fine day in the neighborhood. At this rate, the Post Apocalyptic genre is gonna Tank as real life will become dark fantasy. And not just with the Coof, Beer Virus, or whatever you wanna call this fine mess the whole world's in right now.
So if we're gonna fantasize, it might as well be about something good, eh? So I'm turning back the clock to those thrilling days of yesteryear again. If life's gonna tank, let it TANK. With your and my favorite queen of the heavy iron, TANK GIRL. There have been several other posts on this board with of this concept, so I figured I might as well put my 2 cents in. If you don't know who Tank Girl was, go ask your dad.

Dont'cha just love to weather vehicles? I know I do.
So this model is a 1/48 Sherman kit, with a bunch of bits used to make it look like the the thing from the comics and kooky movie adaptation. The main gun is a Sherman tank gun, but in 1/35 to give the thing a more cartoony, slightly out-of-scale look. The back and side plates were a piece of thermoplastic cut with surgical scissors and edge-melted with a lighter (DIY on the spot baby, the punk way!). Bits and bobs were from all over, including hubcaps from die-cast cars. Also some minor putty work here and there for the hood ornament and to weld part a to part b. The lounge chair and umbrella were from a model railroad set with the planks being coffee stirrers "re-purposed" from a corporate break room. After they were used of course. >AHEM<
The Girl herself is an old GW Escher juve. I know there was a limited run Tank Girl mini created a few years ago, so if you run across one that I could lay my hands on please drop me a line through this site. Thanks and as always, HAVE FUN.
