More knights to add.
Crusader Miniatures of course !

They'll be use for some skirmish games but not for this project.

cheers

The conversion work start for the new Thierry !
The aim is to erase the musculature of the German and the sword harness to represent the top of the garment of our hero.

The sword is refined with a grinder to look more medieval.

 ;)

The new Thierry is now complete !

More dramatic pose and an action figure ; really heroic one with dagger and sword.
The sling is now hanging from his belt.  ;)

Excellent!  :o :)

lol lol Not the same historical period obviously, but I would not be surprised...

When I was a kid and a great fan of Thierry la Fronde TV series, one day my grandmother came to visit us and she gave me a bag of very large (soft plastic) knights she had just bought for me. Some of them were wearing exactly the same sort of winged helmets etc.

The label on the bag was:

THIERRY LA FRONDE
combattait ces chevaliers

(Thierry la Fronde was fighting these knights).

And my mother asked me: "Do they look like Thierry la Fronde's troop?"

In fact I myself was not disappointed at all, I had not expected this gift and at first glance I understood what the label meant and I was happy with it, and I was too young to spot the anachronisms. I think that my grandmother and my mother were unhappy when they understood the fraud, but they did not show it.  lol lol

Thank you Patrice for this anecdote, which proves that Thierry was really the Hero of the French youth at the time.
And to make it even more interesting, I add that the national TV channel (l'ORTF) had released a box of 1/72 scale figures, imitating the Airfix style for the packaging.

you can have all the story at the Plastic Soldier review page

This box is now worth a small fortune (600 - 15OO €) for Airfix collectors. But this is an another story  ;)

Cheers
Eric
