Street Fighter or Resident Evil minis?
« on: January 03, 2021, 08:48:31 PM »
Does anybody know of any 28mm minis that look like Street Fighter? I'm looking for something that looks like Guile and Cammy. Or maybe something that looks like Resident Evil characters?

I think there's a few options for Resident Evil - I think Studio Miniatures have a few characters in their range, and I'm sure I've seen multi-part STARS figures somewhere.

There's a few Ada Wong-a-likes available - there was a particularly nice resin one from a company that made a few assorted characters from different games/shows. I can't remember the name but they also made a major kusanagi and bayonetta.

I only know the Resident Evil movies, but as Cypher226 states, Studio Miniatures have some Alice figures.

Iirc Hasslefree has a line of martial arts minis and someone alternative armies maybe?) should make models for the A Fistful of Kung Fu game.

I would echo Hasslefree, plus Crooked Dice.
The Shiva range is a good place to look:

There use to be some Nano Metal Figures sold in store that could work for you.

Might need a bit of a re-paint though.  :)

That are closer to 32-40mm IIRC.  I used some Nano Superfigs for Super-hero gaming and they worked well.

then in game:

I'm personally a fan of the Resident Evil minis over the Street Fighter minis. I think the Resident Evil minis are more detailed and have a better sculpt. Plus, I'm a big fan of horror games, and I think the Resident Evil minis would capture the essence of the franchise in a really cool way. And of course, the Resident Evil Costumes are just amazing! They're so detailed and well-made, and they would look great on the tabletop.

The thing with prepaints is that they're done at the fastest pace possible, and the paints often obscure some pretty decent detail on the sculpts.

I've painted on/over quite a bit of WotC Star Wars miniatures and I can confidently state that even a simple wash to bring out the details is a huge improvement over the original (pre)paintjob.

And some added highlights etc will pull a very mediocre miniature to acceptable or even good levels.

As an example, here's an overpainted WotC SW minis I did. I simply sprayed it white over the pre-paint and applied my own brushwork:

So I can totally see those Nano figures work. Especially since they're metal and can be easily and safely stripped...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
