Hi Guys
Hello from down under .
We have the Australia Day Long Weekend coming up , unfortunately even though we have virtually no CV19 here our yearly Pilgrimage to Canberra for a big convention is cancelled.. bugger .
So I am doing a large Napoleonic Skirmish game for the boys set in the Peninsular using SP2 rules. at my place , on Saturday .
It will be a 6/8 player game , with the French "Pacifying " a Spanish Village , and the Spanish / British defenders trying to hold them off .
This game will aim to be Fun , to Maximise the "diorama look ", and finally perhaps open up a couple of aspects of SP2 that are not always evident .
Firstly the French will be using a lot of troops , broken up into 2 very large attack columns, with the traditional voltigeur screen , we have done this before once , and found that there is a lot of game management of the columns to keep the players busy, and it looks awesome
. which contributes to the 'diorama look ".
Secondly we found that the rules actually handle the cavalry actions quite well.
However very few games have more than 2 or 3 units of cavalry running around , we shall try for 20 squadrons,,
, on one flank again hopefully adding to the Diorama look.
We shall send some pics over of the table set up for you to peruse , and after that some battle pics .
I would be interested in your thoughts .
Stay safe.
Regards Von Akers
