Very nice.

What exactly is on the back of that one beret trooper? Looks a lot bigger and different than what they normally have. The backpack that is.

Ah, thank you. I've been wanting some non-GW backpacks for some time.

As many miniature lines grow older, they begin to look dated.  To me its amazing that most of copplestones stuff always looks en vogue, and never dated.

Fantastic stuff CoM!

Two apologies:
1: There is no update from the OP,
2: For the threadomancy.

I wanted to comment on Copplestone's style. One of the reasons his FW stuff always seems to be in style is that he uses a very conservative style in everything he sculpts for that line. It's not so specific that it belongs in a particular time frame, and it's not so superdetailed that the basic character of the figure gets lost in the details. My daughter's first miniatures she painted were the Copplestone "Band on the Run". She was able to put her own take on the minis and paint all of the details without me needing to do anything other than minor touchups where her hand wasn't quite steady enough. Right out of the gate and she's almost as good at painting the minis as I am.

Ah kids....nothing better than when they show up old dad....

(luckily, my daughters are not better painters than me, but they both kick my butt at Halo3.

I recently picked up some painted Copplestone FW at Recruits Convention. The price to right with the thought that I could repaint the the flesh and give the minis some shading and highlights. These repaints are bound for EBAY.

Has anyone else tried to repaint existing painted minis?

Nice figures! That sand-and-black combination works quite nicely.

Has anyone else tried to repaint existing painted minis?

I once got a bunch of Roman Auxilia from a friend and touched up the tunics and skin, and completely re-did the shields in order to bring them more into line with my own.

Usually, though, I prefer "raw material" to work on, mainly because I want to be able to say it is all "my work".

Yes - some of these very figures as it happens. Some really old EM4 Future wars figures which I had very sloppily painted a few years back. I thought I'd be clever and just tart them up a bit by giving them the same camo as my current Copplestone FW stuff.

I made a complete hash of it and now they will have to be stripped and re-painted  >:(

Something I should have done in the first place, of course......

 lol

Only very rarely, an old Gothic horror vicar I got recently that had a reasonable basic paint job that I finished up and some necromunda zombies that were destined for ebay.

Otherwise it's a no.

Anyway back onto topic:

Like these, very nice, passable as spec ops/mercs too.
