Anyone Painted 15mm VSF “Nemo” Divers?
« on: February 06, 2021, 03:06:11 PM »
I just came across a batch of unpainted Rebel Minis 15mm Nemo divers, that need some color on them.

https://www.rebelminis.com/nehein.html

By the way, if anyone is looking for guys with helmets that have a bit more flair, with “crested” helmets almost a la War-Gods of the Deep (1965) or Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), these guys in “spacesuits” might do just fine:

QUESTIONS
- Any suggestions on overall colors?  Basic industrial color schemes or uniform-like?
- How about the brass/bronze helmets and fittings ... should I go with a more matte and subdued metal shade?
- What painted examples of VSF divers have you seen around?

Thanks

Dan

Dan, check out the divers from Mysterious Island. Giant shells for helmets and other styles for backpack (air reservoirs?)

Thanks.  I’ll have to look up those movie screenshots.

Dan
PS.  I’m sure you aren’t referring to the 1929 version, right?  :)

Hi Dan,

I have a whole squad from the Rebel Mini dibers painted. They’re great.
I thought I had posted it long, long ago in my 15mm VSF thread, but it seems I forgot. Will see, if I can find pictures of them.

That would be fantastic.  Thanks so much!

Dan
PS.  I also have a batch of guys from All Quiet On the Martian Front (US heavy infantry, they’re called) that I plan to also use as divers:

Excellent.  Thanks so much!

Dan
PS.  Have you seen these resin jellyfish?  I wonder if they’re any good for 15mm.

Thank you for the link Dan.
I have similar to these.
I use them as an Alien species, similar to what you would find on Star Trek or Futurama.
I received them, each in it's own little test-tube. I've been trying to think what use I could put it to.

Excellent!

I don’t think mine are coming in test tubes.  At least I don’t see any mention of it in the listing.

If I do get tubes, I hope they are plastic, so I can cut them to man-height and use them for experiment scenarios or even some diving bell contraption.
