I particularly like the camo wrapping on the rifles on the sniper team, very convincing. Through and through the paintjobs are fantastic though! Looking forward to seeing the vehicles painted.

The French have some nice SF wheeled toys.

Great to see them.

Nice painting as well.

Thanks, guys.

The French have some nice SF wheeled toys.
For the moment, I will go with actual vehicles.
But be assured this army will receive some very SF-styled toys in the near future, such as Arquus Scarabée, Nexter Griffon  et Nexter Jaguar...

Arquus Scarabee (this may be the next generation VBL) :

Nexter Griffon (as the very old VAB needs to be retired), currently delivered to the first units :

And the Nexter Jaguar (the successor of the AMX10RC) :

Those look pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing them printed out.

Thanks for the JJG recommendation.  My order just arrived (3.5 weeks from order to arrival in the US) and I really like the figures.   They are also a pretty good match for Eureka's FFL figures.  Photo at the link if people are interested in the size comparison

Thanks for this comparison pic.
It's always difficult to estimate size of mini, and such pic is always useful.

And as I'm on LAF, I just want to show you this pic of what's coming next :

All 3D printed in resin (1/50 size).
As said, VBL is from Ludocortorum, but VBCI and AMX 10 RCR are from STL files designed bu Guaro3D (sold on Cult3D). Very good design, just need to be adjusted to the good scale.
And yes, the VBCI is really a beast !

For 1970s French, could you squint a bit and use the Empress Indochina figures by adding heads in berets.  I know weapons aren’t quite right, but again, squint.

I think it's not a good idea uniform had some evolution in 15 years.

some exemples for Indochina (paratroopers and regular), using some US and GB camo and webbings :

for 70s, it's the model "satin", used from 1964 to 1984 :
regular :

paratroopers in Zaïre, 1978 :

So I will say :
- it's not really accurate, as the equipment and clothes are different,
- it seems there are no current range for french in the 70s (only late 80s, with FAMAS)
- if you want to go with Indochina war french minis, just take a look at JJG Print range here => https://www.jjgprint3d.com/page-vierge-12
- it's your minis, so just do what you want and enjoy the game !  :D

Little update using this thread, as it's modern french soldiers, but this time for commission work...

First minis for 1er RPIMa, using US Rangers Spectre Miniature range, and painted in the new french BME camo scheme :

And inspiration pics :
