Decrepit Sector Fleet
« on: March 16, 2021, 10:14:43 PM »
The latest fruits of my 3D printing ... a new Imperial Fleet for 40K:

They were all printed on my ender 3 clone (which is a bit rubbish, but it was cheap).

I played around with the sizes of the ships so that I could have some really small corvettes to escort the merchantmen I plan on printing soon. The corvettes (on the left hand side of the fleet) are sword class frigates which I shrank down to about 20mm long. There are also some tiny fighters 10mm long (which are about the smallest I could print on my printer while still having something useable).

I've also printed some Falchion style frigates (back and rear) and some cobra style destroyers (center).

I've only printed off light cruisers at the moment - the bigger ships take a bit too long to print and I will need to break them down into smaller parts to get them printed.

Next up: some Chaos ships for them to fight!

Cheers  :D   I find 3D printing really hit and miss, but I think that these turned out pretty good!

Great stuff!  8)

How do they scale up against original BFG miniatures?

And I'm curious as to what sysytem you will be using with them, as I noticed the square bases...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Cheers :)  The Falcion class frigates are a little bit longer than a sword class frigate and the light cruiser is a little bit smaller than a plastic BFG cruiser. The corvettes are really small in comparison to everything!

I based them up on  some them square MDF bases I had lying around, no real plan for the basing. I'm planning on doing some solo games of 5150 star navy once printed off a chaos fleet  ;D
