You really don't do things by half.  The cemetery is spot on.  The vignettes with the captured witches and dunking stool will fit right in.
I wish I saw that you were building a cemetery.  I have both the Hirst Arts cemetery mold and the the old A&K Scenery headstone mold that I could have lent.  Plenty of different types of plinths on the hirst mold and a tonne of different headstones on both.

Thanks for the thought…who knows, if I were mad enough to expand it further….lol

I do sometimes get a tad carried away….but I also work on the principle of work with what you know and strive to have something a little different to the norm.

The ducking stool is there for everyone to have a go and I stumbled on the Redoubt vignette of the women been taken away by a Native American fellow and immediately thought they could be of use is all.

Looks great, the whole ensemble is spot on, even the ducks in the pond (I have done the same thing, that sprue of farmyard animals from Warlord is very useful!) ;) :)

If it is an Alton Towers ride... is there a height restriction, no 15mm Witches?   lol
More nice work.

At 15mm she would certainly class as an imp I’m sure! 😉

Cheers guys.  Couldn’t do a lot with the face she was cast with…. It I suppose twisted into a look of fear (or rage) works! lol

I’m just worried the pond looks too shallow!  She will hang for sure if she only gets her feet wet!

Astonishing!

I suppose that the idea is: if she survives she is guilty and must be burned, if she drowns she was innocent.

On a much less dramatical level, there is mention of a medieval tradition in some villages in Brittany (and probably elsewhere as well) “le saut des poissonniers“. After the Carême (Lent religious period when eating meat was forbidden) the fishmongers of the village jumped ...voluntarily... in a nearby pond to make people laugh and be friends again, because they earned a lot of money during the Carême.

And yes, swimming (or dunking) a witch. was the practice of tying up and dunking the accused into a pond or river to determine whether they sink or float.  Sinking to the bottom meant that the accused was innocent while floating was a general display that she must be in league with the devil!  I fear they probably chose this shallow pond on purpose to get the result they crave…

Now I want to make some bathing fishmongers!

Cheers fellas

I’m sorry but if you have a pond.. or calm river, then the rule is, you HAVE to have ducks!

The new plates are painted ( except the Pavillion) and hopefully match in (couldn’t quite remember all the paint schemes I used for the first ones).  Some of these Debris of War headstones are distinctly different to the mix I first used…but separating the plates as I do means they are well distributed.  Will be ordering that church soon me thinks!

Now, to paint a few more peoples…

a thought to consider when planning your church is that graves and the church (the end with the big windows) both orientate in the same direction (east)
