Ok, if you ignore my dodgy painting that makes them look more like blokes in dresses than fair maidens, then this helps set the scene….

Great minis and scenery! You're being unfair to yourself: I don't find that they look like blokes in dresses.  :)

It’s probably how any working class woman who reached the age of 40 looked in those days after the  wear and tear.  40 year old men looked 60…this ain’t a flaw, it’s a feature.  Think of the descriptions of Portsmouth ‘brutes’, the jack tar’s particular relish.

Which is probably why some husbands probably saw a quick way to get rid so he could marry someone younger….”you know,  now I think on it, I do believe  my wife may be a witch!”

Edit:  taken the plunge and ordered this fella from Reaper.   I have a notion in my games that if the witches can’t be dealt with quickly….they bring him into this world…then my hapless dog soldiers will be in a wee bit of trouble!

The witches and dunking stool are spot on.  You need a couple wearing scolds masks to flesh out the scene.
A bottle of scotch and two aspirin a day will greatly reduce your awareness of heart disease.

I wish I could find one!  Colonel Bills apparently used to have one, but I can’t see it anywhere.

Ok, I want to really crack on and get these rules sorted….so I need to finish up any major models I still need.   With that in mind I have now ordered my church…..looking forward to tackling that one!

I am eagerly awaiting James’ take on the medieval butter market, and I need to find a good looking lychgate….

I have also been keeping an eye out for a few metal witches…and have settled on these from Reaper.

On my bench I have a few gribblies….a black dog and a werebat, and I have started to paint a few Marquess of Newcastles white coats….one of my “favourite” Royalist regiments who will form the backbone of the opposition to my dog soldiers,  and be at the centre of a werewolf clan!

David,
That church looks big enough to live in.
Sell up and move in.
Plenty of room for the hobby then  lol lol
