Cheers all!

Eric…I looked at that one but they are out of stock….i may actually scratch it myself as I think it looks straight forward, and I would have to add a lot of texture to the petite gate anyway.

that's the one I used, I did have to cut it down to fit as 1/48 was a tad tall...

https://anevilgiraffe.blogspot.com/2020/02/church-wip-adjunct.html

I narrowed it down as well by removing the middle two beams

Yup that reinforces the fact that by time I cut out the spars and lower the height and THEN add texture…..I may as well build it myself! 🥴. Thanks for the pics though!

So I sat started a lych gate last night…..simple foam card walls with green stuff impressed stonework thus far.   As yet there isn’t a straight line on it seeing as it leans already..so we shall say rustic.   Making it up as I go along but have an image in mind for it.  A bit to go yet…

Ok, just the roof tiling plus a gate and it’s built!

That's coming out well, how long did it take to make? Also, thanks for teaching me a new word. I'd not hear "lychgate" before.

About three and a half hours in total…an hour of which was the tiling!  An hour to paint I expect…

What a gorgeous little piece, bursting with character.

Also, thanks for teaching me a new word. I'd not hear "lychgate" before.

Literally 'corpse gate', where pall-bearers carrying the coffin would pause and have a little sit-down rest before entering the church for a funeral service. Some lych gates still have a little raised stone platform between the benches for the coffin to sit on, to make it easier for the pall bearers to lower and lift the coffin.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.
