This is a much harder one to make spectacular, in my opinion.  At least for me.  I'm trying to keep it more generalized than my greenhouse, so I'm pretty sure it won't have as much 'wow, but it is the only thing I could think of that is keeping with any of my projects I am obsessing over this year.

This being my first time competing, when/what should we be posting to the gallery. And how does that differ from the wip thread?  Just seeking some guidance as I don’t want to somehow be eliminated for missing a step.

You send the final entry photo to me. No completed entries in the build thread. So as a rule of thumb: post as much as possible of the build process but stop doing so when you paint it.

Can I just double check something? I was talking to Colin today and we are under different interpretations! Are we allowed to photo the first rounds of pictures on a game board? I thought I read somewhere you couldn't!

What I tried to convey is that the first rounds should be focused on Difficult Terrain and Difficult terrain only

The photos of the first round(s) should therefore be of the piece(s) of difficult  terrain you've built.

What complicates this a little bit is that we have allowed for entries where Difficult Terrain is a part of a terrain board (it makes sense to do so from a builders perspectiv. In that special case the photo should be focus on the section of the game board which is considered to be Difficult Terrain (leaving other features outside).

I hope this makes things a bit clearer.

So, just the newly built item then and a plain background?

I've just posted a part of my process, and it involves rebar that was cast into plaster. But I obviously had to paint it before the pouring of the plaster.

Technically, this means I've shown a painted part of the project in my WIP thread, but I'm hoping this will not be seen as too much of a breach of contract; there was no way around it I fear, and it'll only consitute a very small detail of the overall build in the end...

As long as you are aware of the whole idea of submitting the final WOW!-photos you should be OK. :-)

And considering I went and bought a smoke machine for last year's entry, yeah; I'm aware...  lol

I may have exaggerated that a bit lol

We bought it (a cheap one) for my daughter's birthday party (we turned our garage into a children's nightafternoonclub), but the first actual use was atmosphere building during the photographing of my entry...
