Cheers all, glad you like the Hip  :)

A few more figures painted for the VDV, including the first of the Empress sculpts (the one crouching is from Underfire)…just realised looking at the photo that I need to tidy up the weapons.

Also added another pair of AA HMGs …the base figures are from BlackTree, the berets are headswop from Empress, and the Helmeted head is a headswop from an Underfire

Group shot of my AA Platoon

Nice!

Blimey this project has gone far  :D

So how long before you have every NATO/Warpac force on the table?

They look really cool. Love the beret with the white winter uniforms.

Looking good. That's an awful lot of AA. Expecting trouble?

More great work!  Well done!

Looking good. That's an awful lot of AA. Expecting trouble?

Mind you, those DShK's can be used against ground targets as well...

It’s just possible that I might be getting carried away again  ;)

I expect the VDV have seen what else is on the todo list  :)

Another quick update today, painting time has been limited lately (not least by the crazy weather) but I’ve managed to finish a second Hip helicopter, because one was never going to be enough.

Removed the weapon hardpoints from this one for a bit of variety.

They take up quite a bit of tabletop (although nowhere near as much as the Antonov) so I doubt I’ll get another one….but have got a Hind on the way.

OK, now you’re just rubbing it in….. lol lol

Impressive. If you are looking for a ride for your commander or maybe just another target at his HQ then I would recommend the Smer Mi-2. Cheap as chips and literally clicks together.

I am definitely suffering from hip envy at the moment. I got some Mi-2s, a transport, medevac and attack versions and a hind. But not hips.  ;D

You can never have enough helicopters  ;)

Carlos's suggestion for the  Smer Mi-2 is a good one. I have one sitting in a box ready to do. Cheap and easy.

Excellent!  :-*

So an additional Hip then... Not a Hip replacement...?

Then again, if you scroll back a few pages Akky has modelled what must be a Soviet equivalent of a mobility scooter. ;)

More progress

First up a Rapier Missile System - a very OOP 1/48th resin/metal kit

Also finished another Empress Landrover - gave the crew some Crooked Dice beret heads for variety (and the Sterling-armed passenger is a conversion).

…and another couple of minis for the RAF Regiment contingent - the spotter is from Empress, the officer waging his finger is from TAG with a CD head swop.

Group shot of the RAF so far

…and a Hind (not painted by me)

Especially liking the RAF types.

Have you considered a green Ford Granada for the Station Commander?
My LAF Gallery is HERE
