Marvel: Crisis Protocol (Beast 30th Aug)
« on: May 08, 2021, 10:31:15 PM »
Finished the core box figures. I really enjoyed painting, something different to the Late Romans I was working on. I wanted to paint them in a 'comic book' style; bright colours with clear definition between the two. The figures are based on how the characters look in the comics rather than the MCU, so I didn't want to go for gritty realism.

Very nice looking collection, and I absolutely agree with you on your approach. Also: given how they're miniatures more colourful makes for a better look to begin with!

Thanks for the kind words. I've now finished off my second wave of figures, from the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants.

Impressive work and well photographed.

What sort of scale/bulk are the figures inline with, 28mm Perrys or 32mm Legion size?

They are more on a par with Legion. Black Widow and Spidey are quite small, but Ultron and Sabertooth seem massive!

Coming from having painted Hulk, Thanos and Black Dwarf I have to say that they're bloody massive! :D I think they even officially are 35mm sized, the M:CP figures? Either way, I'd say they're well over Legion sized.

Anyway, that's a neat looking bunch of super persons you got there! I really like the yellow on that Wolverine. Oh and those lightnings on Storm look ace.

So many yellows on the X-Men/Brotherhood... I'm looking forward to the thoroughly more blue Beast and Mistique.
