I’m still enjoying Oathmark, but haven’t had a chance to play regularly.  :-I

As for the trolls - there are trolls, and then there are TROLLS. These two are TROLLS.

There are already 3 bases of “regular” trolls in the army. The new lads will be classed as giants. And as you can see, they’re of a size with the giants in the barbarian army.

The barbarians will have their work cut out for them, even against only two TROLLS…

Those TROLLS (Splintered Lights, right?), are awesome. Though I find them rather GWish big, not tolkienesque sized.

I agree about the size and held off buying any for some time. Then I was thinking about what kind of massive creature would fit into my orc army and I  thought they could work for a type of giant. I do like the sculpting, Ben Siens does great work.

Nice TROLLs, I like the concept of army-specific giants.

I finished up the giant trolls today, and the goblin shaman. That pretty much wraps up the orc army for now. They’ll get a few additions when I’m in the mood, but they’re battle ready.

I’ll take some army pics later this week.

Ben Siens is indeed a great sculptor. One of my favorites for 15mm.

The command base is superb, btw!

As is often the case, it took me longer than I expected to finish these, but real life had been more intrusive than usual this October. Still, some progress is better than none!

Most of the orcs here will be split up into mixed groups of 5 and end up in units of common uruks. The three ex-Demonworld figures with swords will be on a new base of bodyguards.

More to follow (hopefully) soon!

Great work as always. Just wondering where the mace/axe guys at the front are from?
On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular

Thanks fellows!

DivisMal, the goblin shaman looks better in person, as the command stand is hard to photograph well. The problem is that the shaman and the wolf have a similar palette, so in 2D pictures they tend to meld into a black and grey blob. I do like how the base turned out, though. I’m pleased with the checkered trim on the shaman’s hood and cuffs.

Kikuchiyo, all the figures on the front two ‘sticks’ in that pic are from Splintered Light Miniatures.

Some from this pack: https://www.splinteredlightminis.com/orcwarriors1.html

And some from this one: https://www.splinteredlightminis.com/orcwarriors2.html

Quite good figures, my only complaint about them is that their poses are a bugger to fit on a 40x30mm base. I had to be careful placing them so that each orc had enough room to use his weapons. Someone always seemed to have his axe in his neighbor’s ear… It does give a disorderly, fierce warband look, though!

:D that  is often a problem with dynamic poses

I am working on a dungeon crawler so that should fit in well

Thanks Hobgoblin!

The orc army is assembled for battle!

At the front, two bands of sneaky scouts and two swarms of wolfriders. Behind them come four regiments of expendable snaga orcs with mixed bows and melee weapons to soften up the enemy line. Next, two greater trolls, three battle chariots, heavy bodyguard orcs, and a mob of stone trolls. Finally, three units of common orcs and a unit of bodyguards with pikes. Scattered throughout are characters: the warlord, an orc wizard and a goblin shaman, and some captains to pass along orders.

Someday I’ll get around to making a camp and some baggage.

Your horde is magnificent!  :o

I must continue to work on my own project (which I had started long time ago but paused for reasons only the eye of Mordor might remember.

I love the color choice and the feel of „difference“ to what a human army would look like. These are the orcs…nightmares raiding villages at night and haunting the mountains!
