The Great Wargames Survey 2021
« on: 03 August 2021, 03:31:22 PM »
Hi everyone,

Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy have launched its annual survey of our great hobby. This year we have over thirty prizes for those who wish to enter our prize draw. The anonymised results are made available for all wargamers on our blog - you don't need to buy the magazine to see the results.

The more people who enter, the better chance we have of getting a comprehensive picture of the hobby as a whole for 2021.

You can enter here: https://gws2021.paperform.co/

You can also read about previous surveys here: https://www.karwansaraypublishers.com/wss_gws/

Thanks,

Guy

Awesome! Thank you for sharing the link. It is always really interesting to see the results and analysis that comes from this survey.

I wonder if the Admins could sticky this thread to stop it getting lost in the melee?

It will be very interesting from the results to see if 2021 changed any of the habits of us wargamers.
Did we spend more/less ? Did we spend more/less time painting ?  Did you clear the back log in log down ? etc etc

Also very interesting questions about going to events and do you feel safe ?

An excellent idea.

Filled out.  My only genuine feedback on the last page was that this year's GWS was really tough to read/navigate.  The yellow type over white was poor, and the font was a poor choice in general.

The questions also switched constantly around how they were ranked/measured, etc.  Not very consistent.  Looking forward to the results as always, though.

Can I ask what browser you used to take the survey? The questions are designed to be (near) black on white. I have no idea where the yellow comes from, other than in a few dropdowns when you’ve selected an answer.

The text was only on the "type" boxes for the last page and the intro page, etc.  Just on normal Firefox on Windows.

I also got all yellow entry text. Pre formatted text was black on white but everything I had to type was yellow.
Very difficult to read on white background.
I use Opera on W10

Right - replaced with Karwansaray blue, which should provide a higher contrast than WSS golden yellow.  :D

Thank you for sharing this. It's always interesting to see what the questions are and of course I really look forward to seeing the anwers.

Personally, I think that I might have spent a little more than previously, but that's the result of several factors.
