District 9 would have to be my most recent CGI used right examples.
I generally couldn't tell most if not all the time when they were switching between suits, anamatronics and CG.
CG's biggest problem is when it is used to create something real that we are used to seeing, a human face being the prime example, most of the time it is never going to fool the brain into thinking it is real. Where it does come into its own, like with District 9, is adding touches to alien/fantastical beings/structures along side suit and anamatronic work.
If they keep it to mostly that sort of thing, which from the trailer they seem to do with the exception of the big fire demon type thing I have hope for at the very least an enjoyable movie.
