Agema Etruscan command set. On the workbench

Hi. I'm planning on doing a YouTube video soon on available 28mm Etruscan mins, for my channel-  "Great Southern Ancient Miniature Man".   Would you mind if I used your photos ?   They look great

Agema included them in their Kickstarter but I didn't get any so I dont know what they look like...

Agema Axe men - a bit underwhelming

I said underwhelming, not wrong, but since you ask, soft sculpting, ropey proportions, duplicate poses. Agema can produce much better than this.

They look good to me but I haven't been able to get my hands on any yet.  I'm looking forward to seeing some painted up.

Following on from a previous post here are the three Etruscan axe warriors

Axemen look good but  I do think they could use a good meal or 2.     Must have been a lean harvest !

I found a couple of the Tin Soldier Etruscans, for comparison with the Agema offerings. The two ranges are at either end of the heft scale to my eye. As was mentioned before the Agema ones look a bit skinny but the Tin Soldier figures have very 1980s proportions...



Heightwise, as you can see, they are not too diverse. The detail on the Tin Soldier castings is actually very good and pretty authentic. It's just the proportions that cause me problems. More so on the chap on the left (with his giant head,) as he is not stood upright, which makes the comparison worse. If you can pick and choose, some of the Tin Soldier figures could be quite usable.  The Agema figures are well researched but the details are not as crisp as on their Romans (a different sculptor I believe.) The do mix fine with Victrix (if you felt the need) but they have Kickstarted quite a decent sized range along with conversion packs to use with their own plastic Romans, so probably enough variation for most purposes.

The battle axe Etruscans are nearly completed some detailing to complete plus the bases. Happy with the minis
