Audrey became a roller derby girl over the summer! She is spending a lot of time doing that but the season should be wrapping up soon. The rules are really close to completion and I have every confidence she will finish them up. I'll try and get her to post an update herself here soon.

What is roller derby? It is at team sport where 2 groups of women go out and get themselves bloodied and bruised on an oval track. Oh yeah, on roller skates. It was hugely popular here in the US South in the 70's and seems to have made a comeback of late.

Darkoath - Audrey has thrown herself into derby in a big way. I have no doubt she will get back to the rules at some time in the near future. Be sure to IM her, email her, etc. and let her know that the fans are waiting for the finished product.

Roller Derby sounds like it has potential for a great Tabletop miniature game...

Hey, It's nice to know someone noticed my absence ;). Marc let me know you were talking about my rules.

Sorry about falling off the radar. I just kind of burnt out on things and took a break from all miniatures stuff. During that time I went to a few Derby bouts and decided to give it a try for fun. Then the beast consumed me :D.

The Forsaken rules are pretty far along the main thing that is hanging up most of this is some for of points/balancing system for players to create their own stuff.

As for more Derby stuff, here is a good description of the sport http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roller_derby. The modern version is a real sport as opposed to the staged wrestling type stuff from the 70's.

As a man commenting on this sort of things it is easy to come across as condescending, but I don't mean to be: it is interesting to learn from the Wiki article that roller derby is a girl power thing.

I'll have to paint up Reapers Roller Derby girl as a zombie survivor and name her Sin Plicity in honor of you Audrey!  You will have to let me know your uniform colors or better yet post a photograph! lol

Sounds like you are having alot of fun with Roller Derby! :D

Yeah there pretty fun to go to. We have them in Vegas all the time, you should check one out Dark. I am sure San Diego has bouts also.

I almost got involved with the new team that started up in Battle Creek Michigan... they were looking for a certified red cross first aider and someone who was trained with CPR.  I used to teach first aid so was going to apply but then I lost my job and had to move to California.  I'll see if there is a team here in San Diego! :D

Sort of Rollerball without the... err... balls? Sorry, terrible joke  :(

lol  8) Great name! Hopefully we'll see Roller Derby featured in CSI:NY involving one of their bizarre murder cases in the near future. Well, we've had racing shopping trolleys and street-luge [or whatever it was]  ;)

Glad to see the rules are nearly there and hopefully we'll see you back here creating more great gaming stuff soon!
