Does anyone know of anyone who does these dangerous beasts in 28mm?

Yes. Baker Company. They both have stand alone buffaloes and a cart. It has rubber wheels but it should be easy enough to swap them for something more suitable.

Thanks!  They look a bit docile, but they are nice sculpts.

Turns out everybody has not got a water buffalo.

North Star sell two rather nice Cape Buffalos, originally from HSBC Co., which I painted last thing before I left for the U.K. Those might work as Asian ones, too, I guess. I´ll snap a pic and upload it. Price is ~4 Pounds apiece, IIRC.

EDIT: I´m sorry, but Photobucket keeps crashing my browser when I try to upload the images. I´ll try to sort it out, but if it´s urgent, please drop me a PM with your mail adress and I´ll send you the pics so you can decide whether to use the buffs or not.

They look nice, but are a bit on the expensive side. The last two are certainly not docile looking.

Nice work, Hitman.  Those were the ones I remembered but couldn't rediscover.  I'll be purchsing two or four as soon as Dazed announces a sale.

He makes some really nice animals, but a wee bit on the pricey side for my wallet.

Irregular Miniatures:

Listed as 25mm and 85p each, but there is no pic on the site, so I don't know what they look like  :?

No Problem Chick...glad I could help. I know that if you contact Bob, he usually gives a bit of a discount (20%) if you pre-order and pay up front and then pick it up at the convention...such as Fall In if you go.

I purchased the Irregular Water Buffalo, sight unseen, about 15 years ago and was quite disappointed.  It went straight into the 'melt for fishing sinkers' box.

However, there is SOME chance they have remodeled it in the intervening years.

I doubt it, as the other animals I've seen recently are the same vintage. Shame, as some of the others are quite good - certainly as herd or background animals. Oh well  :?
