Just some thoughts about the Warlord Games Epic range
« on: November 26, 2021, 02:00:54 PM »
With Epic Napoleonics about to be released in January, I have returned to Epic ACW in anticipation of collecting both series.

I have put some painting / collecting / basing / rules thoughts up on the blog as I roll a few bases across the painting table.

Very interesting read Norm, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on "Epic" Not too sure if I will go down this route or not. :)

I like the idea of this series for ACW but I have a very opposite opinion regarding Napoleonic's. Even considering the limited units involved in the 100 Days (compared to the rest of the era) I think there will be numerous holes in the series. Like most British centric manufacturers I very much doubt that Warlord will include the various non-British forces which made up the bulk of the allied force. One of the main reasons that there are so many companies making Napoleonic's is because the era is such a vast subject that one company can't do all of it.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

I think that will matter less as 3d printers become common place. We will get to a point that gamers will print off figures at whatever size pleases them or whatever matches the range they want to fill out.

Although this scale is not for me (if I went small I would probably go down to 10mm) it obviously works for you Norm and I will follow both your ACW and Napoleonics projects with much interest.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
