Be warned, these kits are not for the faint-hearted.  A thousand pieces, vague or incomplete instructions and you have to shape and mould the individual planks for the Hull. They will also be quite flimsy if cut to waterline.

To be honest I would be looking for a toy tugboat or similar for conversion.

Absolutely a doddle.  lol
All you need is Baby wipes ,super glue, and baking soda.
The mistake you've all made is your building a whole boat first. There no need to plank the entire Hull.
You just put the keel and ribs together and deck as par kit.
Then plank from the water line level you want .All you do is turn thing upside down so the deck is on a level surface. Then mark the height / depth of the water line on the ribs and keel.by drawing all the way around the thing. Plank from that point up ( probably four planks.) Them use the old baking soda and super glue trick on the inside of the planks where the attach to the ribs all the way up to the underside of the deck. Then you simply cut away the unplanked section of ribs and keel. A little light sanding and it's ready to add the superstructure and furnishings.
(Failing that it's a very simple cereal packet build ;))

Quick Ebay search of 1/50 boats.
Will come up with this. They come in around £12 .

I just got one of these the other day, going by the doors I would say that they are more like 1:72nd on the instructions (& I mean that in the loosest sense  lol ) it says 1:50  :o

So, good weather is coming along with the soon to be released 02 Hundred hours me thinks so it’s time to get painting a few minis.  No doubt there will be plastic guards coming out with the game, but I wanted to jump the gun a little and paint the few guards I already have.

Along with a few generals and perhaps would be assassin / bomber?

I also did a quick test mini for my Commandos.

I stress here that smoking is definitely bad for your health!

Now to paint a few commandos….

Those are looking great. I'm also looking forward to the new rule set and spent some time over the weekend playing about with a sprue of Warlord Games Commando's.
