Re: “Set Europe ablaze!” - Let’s get a few minis painted!

That was an option but I chose to go metals.    There was no need for large numbers so any good metal range would give me enough unique poses and Black Tree seemed to me the most appealing.

However, the beauty of plastics is the ability to creat whatever posing you like …..go for it!

They came out great! I like the Black Tree figures.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :

figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Lovely job there.  Well done!

After reading about 02 Hundred Hours in the April WI, I may have to give them a spin...I already have a bunch of US airborne and British paras painted up, as well as plenty of Germans.

You may be interested in joining their Facebook group then fella.   You can download the play test rules to get a feel for them.

I understand they are looking to take pre orders late Spring.  They just posted up the full Wargames Atlantic German Guards set on preview too.

I have had a chance to look through the test rules they are using (v4). You need special dice (using variable symbols and colours not numbers), special tokens and unique card sets just to play a game.  They seem to have done everything possible to ensure that you have to buy a lot of "add ons" or pay through the nose for a full starter set. No chance of buying a pdf of the rules and getting to use the collection of materials you already have.
Very easy pass this one, Black Ops already does all this very well.

Ordered myself the starter set for now. Been reading through the rules and I’m looking forward to playing a game.

So, in preparation to start building the dockside / sub pen, I have been buying a few bits….blue foam boards to bulk up the dockside areas and these packs of canal piling / dockside quayside detailing to edge them.  Enough for two and a half meters of it anyway.  Reasonably priced and will hopefully paint up nicely I hope.

I could do with designing and casting maybe, some quayside protection buoys and maybe finding a source of scale tyres to dangle in a few places.

I also found a company in Australia that make a handy Kriegs Kutta so may have to order myself one.  It maybe the company Carlos was thinking about?

Once I’ve figured out how to successfully cut the foam, I will start assembling the dockside….

If you are UK based, can recommend Anyscale Models for tyres, dockside fittings etc...

Actually I was thinking of one by Titan Terrain. They’re in NZ and produce models, including dockside buildings in MDF. The owner is a member here.

The model you have there is a 3D print produced by OTP in Western Oz. I have a number of their buildings and the quality is good. It might save you a quid or two in postage to source a local printer as these are just licensed prints of the Jens Najewitz STL files, which you can buy direct, if you have a printer. Pretty sure there are local companies in Europe or the UK that hold the licences.
