Oooh, cultists, lovely! Haven't had cultists in the
campaign before and need to think of plot lines....
Lots of eccentrics in Herefordshire, and lots of
Country Houses 'disused' since the start of the Civil War!

‘We luvvz a Cultist, we do!’ ‘Have you a minute to talk about our Lord & Master Great Cthulhu?’

The plan is to add two squads of  ‘villagers’ to make up the platoon. Just need to sort out a few more bodies for the platoon HQ. Busy squirrelling through the loft for suitable volunteers :-)

Know the feeling only too well.....Sir Gilbert Hill of the Hereford VBCW and Borsetshire (DougEM4) is the man for villagers and irregulars and other such types - his blog has his VBCW journey starting here -

https://velodoug.wordpress.com/2013/10/02/sir-gilbert-hills-volunteers-aka-the-golden-valley-invincibles/

and lots of other stuff, too, including Borsetshire Thruppets! Cheers.

Hah! Just had a look at his page - those Morris Fanatics look very intimidating!

I’m afraid my Villagers are not as comely as his - I piacked up a job lot of ‘19th century civilians’ which turned out to be mostly Irregular Miniatures Old West types. A suitable ‘paint job conversion’ and some spare weapons from the Warlord (?) plastic Zombie Survivor set, and off we go. Should finish the basic paint job today, inshallah. The intention is to paint/varnish, then add the weapons later for ease of removal for when they have a less warlike role.

The good news is that I’ve found some ready volunteers for the brave band from my Lead Pile, so now I have the full 35 figure platoon :-)

Progress!
Both extra sections done, just some differentiation for the bases to make clear which unit is which. The remaining three members of the platoon HQ to the front - sniper, runner and cantiniere. Not sure what to do with the ‘hanged man’.

Lovely! Are you doing LMGs for your infantry sections? And we all
await your Platoon Leader and 2 i/c (SNCO, normally) with full
VBCW backstory!!

PS. Re the Hanged Man, if nothing better occurs in the interim, you've
given me an idea for a future 'Modelling Challenge" as I have a BUF
Executioner somewhere in the painting queue. So keep him safe for
that!

No lmg’s, these are not that organised :-) I’ll get the unit ID features put on the bases, then post the whole.

If you have a use for the Hanged Man, your’e welcome to it - the best I can think of is in a ‘wicker man’, but it’s a bit more than I care to take on!

No worries Moriarty. Looking forward to the complete Platoon!

Re. the Hanged Man, no, I meant you hold on to him to use in a future
Modelling Challenge! My BUF Executioner carries a big axe and would
regard use of the rope as rather...well...too merciful. No doubt inspiration
will strike in due course as to the proper place for a "hanged man".

Cheers.

The full ‘Cultist’ platoon: HQ with officer, standard, runner, sniper and cantiniere; ‘household’ squad, ‘villager’ squad (yes, they killed Kenny) and ‘farm-hand’ squad. Not sure what the standard will be, yet.

Good looking platoon, Moriarty. Sir Gilbert Hill would approve. Enjoy the game - you’ll love it. I doubt I’ll make it - I’m rather busy with Sir Rufus Pitt-Bulstrode and his trials and tribulations in Borsetshire.

One thing he doesn’t approve of is biltong chewing colonials which is why he ensures their incarceration whenever he encounters them… :D

However being an English gentleman, once the Boer is safely locked away, he responds with a heart "What-Ho" to Stokkies salutations….!
