Sludge - A group project to swampy kitbashing
« on: January 04, 2022, 01:02:16 PM »
This holiday my two gaming buddies and me agreed on starting with Sludge. The grim setting together with the idea of mixing kits to weird armies in a napoleon setting was to good.

In this thread we want to post our progress of three ambitious kitbashers in this grim world.

Let’s start. I picked a box of Perry Zouaves and some Perry Foot Knights. Altogether with my beloved 3d printer it’ll turn into the „ 13e régiment de chasseurs de Saint-Denis“.

Knights with muskets. Later I need some cavalry and I’m going to pick the obvious choice: dinosaurs.

Thanks gentlemen for the kind words.

I guess this thread is going to be a work in progress and one man show for a while. But I’ll post some progress of my gaming buddies later on.

For now I can show my brave foot Knights

The knight set of the Perrys is just awesome. I’m pretty new to historic gaming and I wasn’t aware of the variety of this kit. I love it.

This gentleman is my new commander

Together with his trustful bodyguards.

Some mission objectives or so.

I don’t know what they are going to be. I just liked the models.

At last the growing force of my line infantry.

I guess I’ll have to build quite a lot more for a solid backbone of my army. A modellers life can be hard.

Next I’m going to show my friends starting forces.

Until then

These are great! The combination of the 3D printed parts with the kits works really well

The good news about the Perry kits is that they all pretty much work with each other so you can get lots of variety of arms and heads. You can pick up individual sprues on eBay if you just want a few for variety. Or it may be worth asking on the wanted board on LAF if you need some parts - as most of the kits come with loads of extra arms and heads.

Definitely a bit of a "Nausicaä Of The Vally Of The Wind”  vibe going on there. Can't wait to see them painted.

Definite Nausicaa vibe going, which I fully support ;)
