Thanks Mark

That’s the main building sorted, need to build the lean-to for the rear & finish the balustrades, then base & paint, I’m a bit optimistic about getting it finished now  :D

Nothing to thank me for.
As my Grandad was fond of saying, " Only children and fool's go about pointing out, the invisible and the obvious. "
Mind you he was quite found of saying " if wishes were horses beggers would ride.If turnips were watches I'd wear one at my side. "
So I'm not sure what I learnt. If anything  lol

As mentioned at York. I really do think this is a cracking idea, and model.

Looks great! I like the multiple staircases and the textures that you are building.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

Thanks fellas  :D

I’ve got tho lean-to built now & the building undercoated.

The lean-to is made from a plastic rod frame scratched with a rough razor-saw to simulate wood grain & the wrinkly tin sheeting is made from coke cans formed on a home made jig (that can just be seen in the background) & balsa.

I just need to work out what I’m doing with the base, I sort of wish I had one of those fancy green stuff rollers so that I could put cobbles down on it  :?

The coke tin idea is superb!
One method I have used for cobbles is to make several little balls of Milliput or green stuff, place them close-ish to each other and roll them flat. Not ideal for large areas though...

Superb work there - don't forget, no painted photos of the model on the thread  :D

Make your own roller.
Knowing what you do for a shilling it'll be a doddle. Length of 15mm pvc pipe.Couple of nails tips rounded off and a lighter.
,and about an hour of your spare time.

I’m thinking a bit of plasticard with some thin plastic rod stuck to it to make a press.

There's a good chance the strips will peel away once you get going. So a thin coat of PVA over the whole stamp is a good idea..

What ever you choose to do.I'd recommend using talc as a releasing agent rather than water.

Really impressed with it all!  :-* :-* :-*

If you don't fancy making your own roller, you
could look at embossed wall paper.  There are
quite a few out there that would do the job.

This will (hopefully) be the final update before I start painting.

I made a little press mold from plasticard & have done the yard & passage, also added the balustrades.

I will get everything glued down now & start painting.

Oh & add door handles
