Of Gods and Mortals - the Olympic Games (Final Game - 11 Jan)
« on: 09 January 2022, 08:27:39 PM »
I invited James, Sam and Martin over for a "mini-tournament" using our OGAM Greek forces.
Three games in a day to find out who rules Olympus.
Much fun and nonsense was the result.
Here's some pics from the first pair of games

Plenty more pictures and words over on my blog:

Reports of the other two games to follow this week.

Some regularly asked questions about the models.
The Talos belongs to James - it's a tourist statue from a market in Crete that he repainted
Hades is from SHQ miniatures (they do a nice little range of similar gods and godesses)
Hecate and Apollo are from the Mythic Pantheon board game.
Cerberus is a Reaper metal model.

Lovely looking clash. Of the many things I was admiring, I really like those Mediterranean looking trees.

If I were ever to do a Troy game, it would look something like your game.

Beautiful result.

That's a magnificent-looking game! We haven't played OGAM for years - this is just the inspiration I need to dig the rules out again.

Thank you. The smaller "olive" trees I made myself with twisted wire and steel wool. The bigger "poplars" are from The Tree Fellas.

It's a great little game and lends itself to short casual campaign/tournament days.

This looks fantastic!
How'd you paint the living statue unit?

Thank you.

Do you mean the Talos - the big bronze giant model? James painted that I'm not sure if there's an explanation of how he did it on his website https://mogsymakes.net/greek-mythology/?

If you mean the "Shades" (the ghostly hoplites) they're GW Aethematic Blue with a little Thrakka Green wash http://tomstoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2019/10/greek-shades-for-of-gods-and-mortals.html
