Done more work on the straps and epaulets.

It takes getting used to to keep everything consistent on Napoleonic sculpts.

Hats off to other sculptors that do this all the time (Historical/Napoleonic's etc...

I am trying to decide to either do poses for units or individual sculpts or sets of 2-3 miniatures that would make up a scene of battle...?

What do you think...?

P.s I included a Perry miniature just to show scale/size etc.

Still looking good - however the marching figures need to be as per the Perry figure - that’s how the French marched not sloped shoulder ?

Thanks Ian, not sure what you mean by sloped shoulder...? I can change the arms, not a problem... You are talking about the 2 marching sculpts in the photo's and not future marching poses?

Hi Alan
If you study the picture I posted - the French put their musket in the crook of their arm and their arm across their chest - it was unique to the French I believe because the British marched as per your design
Please feel free to ignore me !

Hi Ian,

I won't ignore, I appreciate your input and advice...  I want to get it right so I'll have another pop at it tomorrow.

It's either right or it's not and it's not..

Your sculpting is coming along great Alan.

I think most companies that do historical figures would would have one head done with head gear and blank face.Same for the back packs and such items which repeat on the figures. Then get them moulded and cast up to use on different body types/poses.Saves having to do lots of the same thing over and over. The heads could then be finished with what ever facial hair and such as needed.

manic _miner Thanks ! much appreciated.

That had crossed my mind and is a very sensible idea for sure, but at the moment i don't really have any plans for these so just gonna sculpt a selection of poses as i am just having fun for now as i am not really in to running a company and doing all that side of things as sculpting is enough for me.

If any situation or circumstances arise that i was doing a commission for multiple units then i would need to go down that route, does that all make sense...?

That’s perfect - great work Alan - now if you could make him in 40mm I’d be really happy 😁
